Utilize the camera feature on tablets/phones & have students upload pictures that connect course topics to the everyday.
Get an indication of verbal literacy by asking students to make a recording of themselves reading to a pet or stuffed animal
Make a scavenger hunt of items that relate to the lesson.
Allow brain breaks that encourage active movement.
Offer incentives.
Consider weekly rewards for positive contributions to class discussions, making a significant effort, responding to feedback, or thinking outside the box. Hold a competition, or have students vote on the next topic discussed or type of assignment they’d like to try.
