For many of us, the switch from in-person instruction to online learning has not been a smooth transition. Tech fails, confusion, lack of motivation, the trauma of viewing something in a Zoom meeting that no one should have to witness... Don't worry. Take a deep breath. The Internet is here to help.

SCIENCE: With over 2,000+ Wonders-of-the-Day (and counting!), visitors to Wonderopolis, are sure to find something of interest. Wonderopolis helps promote learning moments in everyday life. Topics range from "How are Noodles Made?" to "Why Do People Like Bubble Wrap So Much?."

FITNESS: Asphalt Green offers parents & educators Kids' Games for Social Distancing. Each game allows for proper distancing & doesn't require sharing equipment. Games are organized by age group, K-8. Even better: rules, a downloadable pdf, & video explaining how to set-up, play, & modify games is offered.

MATH: Zearn is a free math program (aligned to the common core math standards) offering 800+ digital lessons, covering grades K–5, as well as learning resources for teachers, parents & students.

ART: Grab some paper, a set of crayons & get ready to have some fun. In partnership with the Kennedy Center, Illustrator Mo Willems has several programs to spark creativity and inspire acts of kindness. Doodle along with Willems, and explore ways to draw, write & inspire each other.

READING: Ok guys, it doesn't get cooler than this: Story Time From Space. Stories are read by real-life astronauts (!) that are currently orbiting in space! If you've got a budding space explorer in your midst, you need to check this site out.

SOCIAL STUDIES: More for older kids, GeoGuessr is a ridiculously fun way to see the world. Players are dropped anywhere on the globe—from the busy streets of Barcelona, to the barren roads of Australia. In order to earn points & medals, players navigate the area to find clues (ie, signs, billboards, & landmarks) to figure out where they are on earth.

A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING: The Library of Congress website is an amazing resource for kids, parents & educators. Teachers can download classroom materials, lesson plans, presentations & activities from an enormous catalogue of topics. Kids can link to programs like Dav Pilkey at Home; try out Rosa Parks' recipe for "featherlite" pancakes; make a mini-book & much more.

VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP: Take a trip to the zoo without worrying about crowds, bad weather, or finding a bathroom. San Diego Zoo Kids features live web cams (including koalas, platypus, & penguins), as well as games, crafts, activities and stories.
